  • develop a brochure/powerpoint on that specific type of biometric
  • evaluate and interpret biometric ideas via a daily blog

Time Required

5 - 50 minute periods given the availability of technology for research and development.
3 -50 minute periods for presentation of materials.

Pre-Requisite Skills

Internet searching, typing, powerpoint, experience in Publisher

21st Century Tools (Technology Tools)

Laptops, Internet Explorer, Publisher, Powerpoint, Projector

Instructional Materials

Good handouts introduce students to an activity, motivate them, and enable them to take active control of their own learning process. Once you have created these student materials (in the form of a document or a web page) create a link to the file here.

Procedure

The students will be given a handout explaining the project.  A grading rubric will also accompany the handout.  The students will be given a variety of web sites to search.  (A web quest may be more appropriate here if planning can permit.)

Differentiated Instruction

Differentiate instruction as appropriate in the IEP, allow peer work groups, read the instructions aloud, circulate to provide prompts to stay on task, etc.  Collaborate with the special education instructor to ensure that all students are capable of succeeding.  Ensure that all students are successful by close monitoring and seeking the outside help as necessary.

Collaboration

The lesson can be implemented across the curriculum via use in the teaming concept.  I can collaborate with the math educator to include statistics, the english educator with the wording of the brochure, the art educator with the planning of the art used.

Author's Comments

You can create your daily blog for student on www.blogspot.net or any other blogging site that you choose.

21st Century Assessment/Evaluation
