Before beginning the lesson the teacher will need to read information
on the effects of tobacco. Sources containing information related

Procedure:
1. Teacher teaches the effects tobacco has on the body
by having students view:

2. Have students write about and illustrate one effect that smoking
has on the body.
3. Have students lie on large white butcher paper to trace around the
outline of their bodies. Students then draw and color
organs inside the shape of the body that are effected
by tobacco. Then cut them out and display them.
4. Have students learn that smokeless
tobacco (search for smokeless tobacco at this site) is not a safe alternative
to smoking
and the dangers
of smokeless tobacco.
5. Have students take an online
quiz to test their knowledge of tobacco and alcohol. Some students
may need the quiz read
orally to them.
Modifications:
Have students work in pairs to make accommodations for special needs.
Enrichment:
Conduct an experiment
about the dangers of smoking.
Do more activities
on smoking.
