Example:
It is
40 miles from Grandview to Cunard-Kaymoor Trail. One lap riding around
the playground on a bike equals 5 miles. Students will need to
ride
8 laps to fulfill the daily requirement for the activity.
Procedures:

Distribute
the
student journals.

Introduce
this
attraction (Cunard-Kaymoor Trail) using the Powerpoint
presentation.

Calculate
actual
mileage from Grandview Visitor Center to the Cunard-Kaymoor
Trail.
Convert the miles to laps (using calculators) the students will bike in
physical education class.

Discuss
the physical
effects of riding a bike. What body systems does it affect? What
are
the benefits of biking?

Students
participate
in the activity.

journals.
