Writing the Final Paper

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
The student will use the compiled/acquired information to draft, revise, edit, and prepare the final draft of the Career I-Search paper.
DURATION OF LESSON:
90 minute class period
MATERIALS:
Writing utensils and paper
TECHNOLOGY TOOLS:
One computer for each student, Microsoft Office, printer, and 3 1/2 - inch floppy disk
TEACHERS NOTES:
Verify that the School Acceptable Computer Usage form is on file.
Schedule computer lab.
Teacher needs to be familiar with Microsoft Word.  If not, the teacher may need to complete a tutorial.
PROCEDURES:
1.  Students will work independently to draft, revise, edit, and prepare the final draft of their Career I-Search paper.

2.  Students will print two copies, one for his/her records and one for the teacher.

3.  Students will submit a final draft to the teacher (on disk and as a printout) for grading.

MODIFICATIONS:
Modifications will be made for those individuals with IEPs in coordination with the Special Education Department.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES:
Students may proofread their classmates' rough drafts and offer suggestions for revision.
EVALUATION/ASSESSMENT:
Using the Career I-Search Evaluation sheet, students may earn up to 200 points for this project.
