TITLE:

Presentation of Personal Career Action Plan
GRADES:

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
  The student will create a five slide PowerPoint presentation. 
  The student will orally present his/her personal career action plan.
  The student will orally and visually present a PowerPoint presentation.
DURATION OF LESSON:
Two 90 minute class periods
MATERIALS:
  • I-Search final draft
  • Writing utensil and paper
TECHNOLOGY TOOLS:
One computer per student with Internet Access and Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
TEACHER'S NOTES:
  The student and teacher must have prior knowledge of PowerPoint .
  Secure computer lab.
  Verify that the School Acceptable Computer Usage form is on file.
PROCEDURES:
1. Log on to PowerPoint.
2. Open a Generic Presentation.
3. Review the basic PowerPoint procedures.
4. Using the content of the prepared Career I-Search final draft, create at least a five slide PowerPoint presentation.
5. Use the Apply Design Template to make the Presentation more attractive.
6. Save your presentation as (your name) Career Action Plan.
7. Proofread, spell check, and close your document.
8. Volunteers, in turn, will display presentations using the computer data projector until the whole class is finished.
9.  Students will have a question and answer session at the end of each presentation.
MODIFICATIONS:
Modifications will be made for those individuals with IEPs in coordination with the Special Education Department.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES:
  • Students may provide PowerPoint Presentations to businesses and/or colleges.
  • Students may have more than five slides in their PowerPoint Presentation.
  • Students should place a copy of their completed project in their student portfolio.
  • EVALUATION/ASSESSMENT:
  • Evaluate PowerPoint Presentations.  Students may earn up to 25 points according to teacher criteria.
  • Observe participation in the class activities.
