Duration of Lesson: Two 45 minute periods
Materials: paper, pencils, pens, markers, and calculators

Procedures:
1. Use computer/internet
to access online grocery store.
2. Gather information to include
food from the four food groups, making sure to keep the cost of the meal
at $20.00 or less.
3. Make a list on Microsoft
Word of what will be served and what ingredients are needed to
create a nutritious meal.
4. Calculate the total of the
meal to $20.00 or less.
5. Print out menus for teacher
assessment.

Random choice of one student prepared dinner menu may be prepared by cafeteria staff and served for lunch.
