Procedure: 1. Students
will record temperature and type of weather ( rainy, snowy, sunny,

.

( using tally marks) to count # of rainy, snowy, sunny, or cloudy days.

The students will
measure temperature inside and outside. Students will discuss
freezing point and boiling point in Celsius and Fahrenheit.
3. The students will find the average daily temperature using data
from
their journal, teacher assisted.
4. The students will use tally of weather types and find the number
of days
it was rainy, snowy, sunny, and cloudy. The students will make a
bar graph
showing their information. The teacher will take information and
make a
bar graph on Microsoft Works and print out for each student. The
students will compare their graph with the computer made graph for
accuracy. Discuss why free-hand data may be more difficult
to interpret
than computer made data.
5. The teacher will list fall, winter, summer, and winter on chalkboard,
emphasizing that seasons are not capitalized. The students will brainstorm
activities and characteristics for each season. The teacher will
record
information under the correct season. The students will also determine
types of weather and approximate temperature ranges for each season.
The students will write in their
weather journal about their findings or

fourths. The
first block will be labeled fall, second - winter, bottom third - spring
bottom fourth - summer. The students will draw and color what the
