presentation of Greenbrier County and Lewisburg
Time Frame: five forty-five minute class periods

Teacher Notes: An acceptable use policy will be on file. Letters and e-mail must be approved by the teacher before being sent. This is a good time to discuss computer etiquette. The teacher will insure that each member of the group is responsible for part of the research and presentation.
Procedures:
The students will complete the required minutes of exercise and will keep
a log of their
times prior to beginning the activity.
Students will determine the absolute and relative locations of Lewisburg
using latitude
and longitude.
Students will determine the distance
from Seneca Rock to Lewisburg using scale and
mileage charts on road maps.
Each student team will research a site and will either locate pictures
or photograph its
own.
Each team will be responsible for producing one slide for a Power Point
presentation of
Greenbrier County. Suggested topics are:
Students will show the Power Point presentation to other classes via the
school's closed
circuit TV.
Modifications:
Students
not permittedto use Internet will write a report instead.
Special
needs students will be paired with others and will have the assistance
of a parent volunteer.
Enrichment:
Advanced
students may also complete a video of local sites to be presented
on the school's closed circuit TV.
Evaluation/Assessment:
The
project will be considered complete when each team submits the following
