As in the first "West Virginia Wanderings" unit, the students will meet physical fitness goals as they continue to travel around the state and learn its history. They will begin this second unit in Parkersburg and learn about Blennerhassett Island, Aaron Burr, and Thomas Jefferson. Then they will travel to Wheeling, the state's first capital. The next stop will be Harpers Ferry with a study of John Brown and the Civil War. They will then study the state/national parks and recreation areas of the state with a stop at Spruce Knob and Seneca Rock. The final destination will be Lewisburg and the Greenbrier Valley, home of the State Fair.
