LEARNER OUTCOMES:  The students will prepare a 5-10 slideshow anti-smoking presentation using PowerPoint.

DURATION:  two 90-minute blocks

MATERIALS:   hard copy list of teacher selected clipart websites

TECHNOLOGY TOOLS:  Computers with Internet access
                                              Projection Device
                                              Microsoft Word

TEACHER NOTES: Make sure each student has an acceptable use policy on file.
                                    Reserve the computer lab for this day.
                                    The teacher should have a working knowledge of   PowerPoint .
                                    Steps for using PowerPoint .

ACTIVITIES:  Model the 12-steps for creating a PowerPoint Presentation
                          The students will create a 5-10 slide PowerPoint Anti-Smoking Presentation with a peer.

MODIFICATIONS:
Special education students will work with the assistance of inclusion teacher/peer.
Consult individual student's IEP or 504 plan.

EXTENDED ACTIVITY:  Present student created PowerPoint Presentations to class.

EVALUATION:  Complete rubric for each student.
