Duration of lesson: 3 to 4 50-minute class periods
- Work cooperatively in groups to read and do research on the Internet
- Write a report based on information obtained through research
- Practice oral and silent reading and apply comprehension skills
- Present their findings to the class by giving an oral report
- Use electronic mail to take quizzes
- Use a word processor to type a report compiled from research

Procedures:
ModificationsAfter students read 2 chapters, they spend the rest of the class time each day working on reports
Any group that is ready may present their report on any of the days during this lesson
E-mail quiz will be given on the last day on chapters 19 through 24
Enrichment Activities:Special education students may work with another student in class.
The teacher may need to confer with Sp. Ed. Teacher.
If there is a nuclear power plant in your area, you might invite a representative from that plant to be a
guest speaker
