• Organize information into chronological order
• Construct a timeline.

Materials:  Note cards from Lesson 1, Rolls of wide adding machine paper (or sheets of paper stapled or taped together), measuring tool, timeline format, art supplies

Technology Tools/Courseware: NA

Teacher Notes:  Social Studies textbook may be useful for timeline format.  Highlighted IGOs are the
most important ones for the unit.

Procedures:

• Groups arrange index cards in chronological order and determine what information should be included on the timeline.
• Groups use measuring skills to properly space events in a correct timeline format.
• Transfer information from index cards to timeline paper.

Enrichment Activities:  Students may want to "personalize" their timeline with illustrations.
