3. trace a path from Massachusetts to Europe, where he sailed in 1936.
(This voyage was his inspiration for the book And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.)
4. answer questions about Dr. Seuss's life from the Power Point presentation and this web site successlink.
5. illustrate their interpretation of a scene from the book using Microsoft Paint, similar program, or paper and various art mediums.

Students are expected to:1. Students will have a signed Acceptable Use Policy and the teacher will keep it on file.
2. Locate the United States and the continent of Europe on a map.
3. Listen to and view a Power Point presentation and answer comprehension questions.
4. Have a working knowledge of Power Point.
5. Develop a 6 slide Power Point presentation by week's end.* 2 slides of Dr. Seuss' life6. Use computer to link to bookmark sites.

1. Teacher will cover background information on Dr. Seuss.
2. Use the Power Point presentation to relay background information.
3. Use the last page of the Power Point presentation for comprehension check.
4. Teacher will read the book, but not show Dr. Seuss's illustrations to the students.
5. Use predicting strategies as to what will happen next.
6. Students will draw their interpretations of scenes from Mulberry Street.
7. Students will begin developing their Power Point presentations, which are due at the end of each unit.
Modifications:
1. Provide a written script of the Power Point presentation for students who must have information presented through various modalities.
2. Provide peer helpers or work in Cooperative Learning Groups to complete the written work.
3. Provide partners to special needs students to complete Power Point.
