Each of the activities described can be extended or abbreviated according to individual student needs and levels.    

 Procedures:

Activity #1:  PowerPoint demonstration of graphical representation of fractional values and their equivalents will be shown. Demonstration includes connections of fractional values to music.

Activity #2:  Students will do a related graphing activity outlined on Graphing Fractional Families worksheet.

Activity #3:  Using the game, Fraction Math...Bingo, the instructor will assess student understanding of fractional values and their equivalents. The activity worksheets will explain the game rules , provide a gameboard , and provide related problems/answers.

 
Modifications:

         The instructor may need to review graphing ordered pairs in the coordinate plane.

Enrichment Activities:

Activity #2 can be extended to include higher order thinking skills outlined in the book, Action with Fractions, AIMS Education Foundation , 1998

Evaluation/Assessment:

        Students will graph fractional families and demonstate understanding of fractional values by playing Fraction Math...Bingo.
