Procedures:
1. Review 9-1-1 procedures. Students
may practice 9-1-1 procedures
with a partner.
2. Review all safety procedures that have been
discussed in previous lessons dealing with fire, water,
bicycles, poisons, and seat
belts.
3. Pair up students to make a safety manual using
the index card booklet
or one from the Making
Books
website
that incorporates each safety topic. Students will draw a picture
showing how to be safe
in that area. Students
will label the pictures with a sentence or two describing the safety measure
taken. If you wish, show
a Red Cross first aid manual as a model.
4. Display the booklets for others to view.
Modifications:
Take into consideration any students with IEP or 504
plans.
