sequenced events in the book, with the line
corresponding
with the picture written underneath.

SESSION

FIFTEEN MINUTE SESSIONS FOR EACH TIME FOR FIVE
CONSECUTIVE DAYS
Procedures:
1. The
teacher will use the hand-held clock, with movable hands to explain the time.
For example, in the morning, the teacher
may use
the "clock" at 8:00 to demonstrate school beginning; at 12:00, the teacher
may use the "clock" to demonstrate lunch; at 3:00,
the teacher
may use the clock to show it is time to go home.
2.
The teacher will hand out the materials for each individual student to "make
a clock" (paper plate, precut "hands" for the clock,
the clasp
and three small squares of construction paper). The teacher will demonstrate
how to secure the "hands" on the clock. The teacher will use the overhead
projector to demonstrate how to write the 12 numbers used for time around
the clock and how to write
8:00,
12:00 and 3:00 on the precut construction paper squares.
3.
The teacher may use the "clock" to teach time, either by manipulating the
"hands", pasting or velcroing the "time squares" on the appropriate time,
or both. It may be more effective to use this procedure at the correct
time.
