SESSION 1
FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS FOR 5 - 10 MINUTES DAILY

Procedures:

1.  The teacher will read Hickory Dickory Dock each morning during circle time.
2.  The teacher will read each line and the students will repeat it after her.
3.  The teacher may also use the Music for the Rhyme to teach the childen the song.
4.  The teacher may choose to read the History of the rhyme aloud to the children.
5.  The teacher may complete the MotherGoose Quiz as a class activity; a computer and data projector are needed.

SESSION 2
FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS FOR 15 MINUTES DAILY

Procedures:

1.  The teacher will take pictures, with the digital camera, of each of the three sequenced events in the book, with the line
corresponding with the picture written underneath.
2.  The teacher will make sentence strips/sequencing cards using the directions in Technology Tools/Courseware.
3.  The teacher will make one set of cards for teaching and choose to make each child an individual set.
4.  The teacher may choose to use the overhead projector or the camera disk in the Data Projector to teach the concepts, first,
next and last.  If the children have individual sets, they can use them during the demonstration and afterwards for individual evaluation.

SESSION 3
ONGOING THROUGHOUT THE LESSON

Procedures:

1.  The teacher will demonstrate and "teach" the use of the prepositions "up" and "down" throughout the school day in functional
situations, e.g. (Stand up, sit down, put your hands down, put your heads down, pick up your pencil, put your pencil down, etc.)  The
teacher may refer to the lines, "the mouse ran up the clock" and "the mouse ran down", several times throughout the day in conjunction
with these directions in functional settings.

SESSION 4
FIFTEEN MINUTE SESSIONS FOR EACH TIME FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS

Procedures:

1.  The teacher will use the hand-held clock, with movable hands to explain the time.  For example, in the morning, the teacher
may use the "clock" at 8:00 to demonstrate school beginning;  at 12:00, the teacher  may use the "clock" to demonstrate  lunch; at 3:00,
the teacher may use the clock to show it is time to go home.
2.  The teacher will hand out the materials for each individual student to "make a clock" (paper plate, precut "hands" for the clock,
the clasp and three small squares of construction paper).  The teacher will demonstrate how to secure the "hands" on the clock.  The teacher will use the overhead projector to demonstrate how to write the 12 numbers used for time around the clock and how to write
8:00, 12:00 and 3:00 on the precut construction paper squares.
3.  The teacher may use the "clock" to teach time, either by manipulating the "hands", pasting or velcroing the "time squares" on the appropriate time, or both.  It may be more effective to use this procedure at the correct time.
