Recycle...Respect the World We Live In! Lesson 3

The student will:

Demonstrate sketching and drawing skills to
develop a poster design.

Create a poster message promoting the use of
recycling to help the environment.
Time Frame:
Two thirty minute class periods
Materials:

Hand-made paper from lesson 2.

Markers, crayons, and other art supplies for
poster
Technology Tools:

Computers with Internet access
-
Digital Camera
-
Scanner
-
Office 97, PowerPoint
Teacher Notes:
Allow time for the
collecting of materials at the end of the class period.
Procedures:
-
The students will use handmade paper from previous
lesson.

Working with partner, gather necessary materials,
work quietly, and clean work area when finished.

The final activity will include scanning the
posters and creating a class PowerPoint presentation.

Students will scan their posters as they finish
and save to disk.

After posters are all scanned, teacher will
assist students in inserting into a PowerPoint Presentation. This
will involve a lot of teacher assistance, since teaching how to do PowerPoint
is not part of the actual this lesson instruction.

Post completed posters, with environmental message
relating to recycling, around the school.
Modifications:
Teachers should determine
pairing of students so students with special needs will be assisted during
lesson activities.
