Time Frame: Two
thirty minute class periods
Materials:

Computers with Internet access
Technology Tools/Courseware:

Computers with Internet access (Lab setting
would be the ideal situation so all students would be working at the same
time).
Teacher Notes:

Urge students to read and follow instructions
before beginning game.

Teacher will circulate around the lab to assist
students with questions or concerns.
Procedures:

Students (working in groups with size of group
determined by the number of Internet accessible computers) will locate
the Recycle City
site and proceed by following the directions of the simulation game.
Modifications:
Teachers should
determine the pairing of students so students with special needs will be
assisted during lesson activities.

Self Check: Reduce the amount of paper
going to the landfill, remove organic wastes from streams, stay within
budget, removal of waste with no cost to the city within the simulation
game.
