     Turn the bicycle upside down.  Cut out the protractor and mount it to the rear wheel of the bike.  Set the gears at each combination.  Turn the rear wheel so that the 0 degree position is at a bar of the frame.  Apply friction to the rear wheel while you turn the pedal one 360 degree rotation.  Record how many degrees of turning are made by the wheel.  Remember that one complete rotation is 360 degrees.  Record the results and determine the number of turns in decimal notation by dividing the degrees of turn by 360 degrees per turn.
