Duration of Lesson:
Students will spend one session preparing a short tale and one or more sessions
recording the tale using Powerpoint.
Materials: Writing

Technology Tools:
multi-media computer, printer, printer paper, microphone
Teacher Notes:
Students should be reminded that folk tales were oral stories originally.
Procedures:
- Give students
a brief background of the Grimm
brothers and how they collected oral stories.
- Direct
students to open a blank "Powerpoint" presentation. (see: http://www.mightycoach.com/articles/powerpoint/index.html

- Direct
students to type the title of their story on the first slide
- Students
should use the microphone to record their voice stating the title
- Students
should continue creating a background and recording a portion of the tale
on consecutive slides
Modifications:
This lesson should be modified to fit the student's IEP.
Enrichment Activities:
Students may write additional tales, or collect actual stories from family
or friends as the Grimm brothers did, then record them using the computer.
Encourage students to act out their tale.
