Materials: Tapes, digital photos

Technology: MS Publisher, PowerPoint, VCR, TV

Teacher Notes:  Students  have planned and actually visited
Washington DC.  The itinerary was very ambitious.  Final
project will be a PowerPoint presentation of the trip that
will be linked to our school's web site.                                                          Ruby Slippers
 

Procedures:  From the trip, students will organize and edit information to a group PowerPoint presentation that will ultimately be linked to the school's web site.  Students will be assigned one of the following.

•  Create thank-you notes using MS Publisher and digital photos to send to speakers, tour guides, drivers, and any others who assisted in the trip
• Create four slides from the site or topic chosen in (Lesson 4 'You Be The Tour Guide") these will be compiled into the group Powerpoint presentation entitled "Wildcats to Washington"
•  Create and edit the group video

Enrichment Activities: Use above information to give a presentation to PTA, Board of Education,
                                      local civic groups, and the students who will be going on next year's trip

Evaluation/Assessment: Were all thank-you notes completed and mailed?
                                         Were the four slides included in the PowerPoint presentation?
                                         Was the video edited appropriately?
