Materials: Novel The Great Gatsby, pen or pencil, paper, and teacher generated writing assignment
Technology Tools/Courseware: Multi-media computer,
Power Point program "Introduction to
Characters in The Great
Gatsby," and a data projector
Teacher Notes: Students will need encouragement and time
to do character analysis. The teacher should model an example of
personality traits of a famous person most students would recognize, such
as Michael Jordan.

Procedures:
Enrichments Activities: Students could role play the characters to capture personality traits.
Evaluation/Assessment: Teacher will assess the students’ participation
in the classroom discussions.
For the other written activity,
teacher will evaluate the accuracy of the information provided by each
student.
