Materials:

Paper and pen or pencil for notetaking
Technology Tools/Courseware:

Computer with Windows 98 operating
system and Internet access

Netscape Communicator
Teacher Notes:
-
Students must have a signed Technology
Acceptable Use form on file.

Make sure students have access to the
Control Panel and volume controls.
Procedures:
1.) Have students
start their computers until the desktop is available.
2.) Have students
access the Internet by clicking on the Netscape Communicator icon.
3.) In the "Location"
box, have students type the URL for The Solution Site http://www.thesolutionsite.com)
and find the unit called Surviving in Windows 98. Then select
"Lesson 5 - Desktop Makeovers."
4.) Have students
follow the instructions and complete the activities in Lesson 5.
Modifications:

Student IEPs will determine lesson
modifications.

Advanced students may help students
who are experiencing difficulties.

and read the information on changing your display and practice the activity
on your computer. You can also read how to change your background
and screensaver. You can try this, too!
