Materials: textbook, map of Europe, transparencies, slides of Renaissance art

Technology:  overhead projector, slide projector, computer lab with internet access, Microsoft Work program

Teacher Notes:

Procedures: Modifications:
    Have students create a time line of important events discussed in class.
    Students my listen to an audio tape which accompanies the textbook.

Enrichment Activities:
    Have students work with a partner to prepare and present a profile of a Renaissance writer or artist.  Their profiles will require outside research.
    Secure pictures from the Internet of examples of Renaissance art and arrange on poster board.  Label each artist's name and date.
    Watch parts of the video: Art of the Western World

Evaluation:
    testing, student group participation, and an essay typed on Microsoft Word
