School Bus Safety Rules/Parts
Avoid Horseplay--Children playing with a ball, it goes into the road and child one goes after it.  Then child two pulls child one back.
Ten Foot Rule--Bus driver stops the bus, blows the horn, and comes out and explains the ten foot rule (always stay 10 ft. away from the bus when it is moving and cross 10 ft. in front of it when it is stopped).
Single File Rule--Kids try to shove way onto bus at the same time and run into the bus.  The kids that stay back in line get to go onto the bus first and get the best seats.
Be On Time--As bus pulls away, a student runs after the bus yelling.
Keep Aisles Clear--Students will be seated on bus, student one will walk on the bus with an armload of items and "accidentally" bumps into other students.  Student one sits down and piles stuff into the aisle.  Other students start complaining about student one's stuff until he/she moves it.
Obey the Bus Driver--Students will be up on their knees facing the back end of the bus.  The driver will tell the students to turn around and sit down.  The students all quickly turn around, salute, say "yes sir", and sit down.
Talk Quietly and Stay in Seat--Remember, no talking at R/R crossings.  Student or adult walks by the bus, blows a train whistle and shows a little train with smoke coming out of the smokestack.
Keep Your Hands and Head Inside the Windows--Student holds fake arm and head out of the window.  Someone walks outside from the front of the bus to the back with a tree branch and knocks the head off.
