Learner Outcomes: The learner will expand his/her knowledge of life in ancient Greece and the Greek theater.
Duration of Lesson: Two class periods of approximately 40-50 minutes.
Materials: Computer with projector and projection screen, PowerPoint downloaded to disc, and class set of computers with internet access.
Technology Tool/Courseware: Computer with projector and projection screen, PowerPoint downloaded to disc, class set of computers with internet access.
Teacher Notes: Teacher should set up for PowerPoint presentation before class starts. The second day is allotted for students to research and develop project presentations.
Procedures:
Day 1
Enrichment Activities: Students could further research aspects of ancient Greece or create a new Greek god or goddess and create a tale to accompany the character.
Evaluation: Use the matching activity sheet to evaluate students' recognition of ancient Greek life and the Greek theater. Students' projects can be evaluated utilizing the attached rubric.
Assessment: Students completed projects should demonstrate understanding and application of ancient Greece and Greek theater.
