AQUATIC DIORAMA

 

Grade Level: K-2

Subject: Art/Science

Learner Outcomes: Students will:
1.  Identify plants and animals that live in a specific
aquatic biome.
2.  Construct a diorama of an a
quatic biome.


Duration of the Lesson: 60 minutes

Materials: Shoe boxes, scissors, glue, construction paper, patterns of fish and aquatic plants, plastic fish and sea creatures, sea shells, and sand.

Technology Tools/Courseware: Computer, video player, television, data projector, screen.

Teacher Notes:
Create a learning center in your classroom with books and puzzles associated with aquatic biome.  Include a variety of toy fish and sea creatures, sea shells, and a sand box. 


Procedure:
1.  Review 
aquatic biome. (power point presentation).
2.  Provide materials for each student to construct an aquatic di
orama.
3.  Demonstrate each step of construction for the students.


Modifications:
Modify the lesson to meet the needs of the grade level you are teaching.

Enrichment Activities:
Show a video of The Little Mermaid.  
Snack time:  Serve fish shaped crackers.
