Lesson 2 - Change is
Inevitable!

of deleting text.
Duration of Lesson: Two

Technology Tools/Courseware:

Computer with Windows 98 operating
system and Internet access

Microsoft Word 2000
-
Netscape Communicator
Teacher Notes:
-
Students must have a signed Technology
Acceptable Use form on file.

Students should have completed the
"Surviving in Windows 98" unit.
-
Students should have completed the
"Surviving Word 2000, Lesson 1."
Procedures:
1.) Have students
boot their computers and then double-click on the Netscape Communicator
icon to access
the Internet.
2.) In the "Location"
box, have students type the URL for The Solution Site (http://www.thesolutionsite.com)
and find the unit called Surviving Word 2000. Then select "Lesson
2 - Change is Inevitable!"
3.) Use the instructions
you learned in the Windows unit (Lesson 3) to size the window to the right
half of the
desktop space. In the left half of the desktop space, open Microsoft
Word 2000.
4.) Have students
follow the instructions and activities in Lesson 2.
5.) After completion
of the lesson, have students complete Lesson 2 Practice Document and turn
it in for
evaluation.
Modifications:

Student IEPs will determine lesson
modifications.

Advanced students will help students
who are experiencing difficulties.
Enrichment Activities:
-
Use the "Help" feature to discover
at least three other types of character formatting (not used in Lesson
2) that can be used in Microsoft Word 2000. Then use examples of
each of those three formatting techniques in the Lesson 2 "Your Name's
Constitution" document you created and save it as "Lesson 2 Enrichment."
Print the document and turn in for evaluation.
