Procedures:
-
Introduce lesson by sharing items
the students brought in that contained divided packaging.

Review different methods of dividing
something to suit a purpose.

Have the group open their Hershey
bar and observe the manner in which the bar is divided. Discuss the
Hershey book and the way the Hershey Bar is divided in the book.

Use the data projector and model
ways to divide a candy bar using the paint program.
-
Direct the students to create
a new way to divide the Hershey bar evenly
-
Use size equivalent manilla paper
to divide the Hershey Bar.
-
Each group should have 6-8 pieces
to practice.
-
When students are finished they
are to demonstrate this on the overhead.

Students will re-do finished division
of the hershey bar with brown construction paper.

Students will display the divisions
of the hershey bar.
