Procedures

  1. Discuss how students could learn more about India.  (Library, Internet, interview a native, etc.)
  2. Introduce the WebQuest on India, My Two Homes, http://www.edina.k12.mn.us/cornelia/teach/webquests/india/india.htm.
  3. Read the Introduction together.  Discuss how learning about another culture will promote respect and understanding of other cultures.  If students are unfamiliar with ESL students, discuss what that means. Identify why it is an asset to have students from India create this WebQuest.
  4. Assign the Task.  Group students as appropriate for your class.  Ideally, there will be seven groups, each assigned one of the areas of investigation of India.
  5. Review the rubric that will be used to evaluate student work.
  6. Review the Resources link together.
  7. Review the Note-taking Form.  Have students print out enough forms for their group to use while doing research.
  8. Demonstrate how to save a picture from the Internet to use in their presentations.
  9. Complete research.
