Learner Outcomes:

• The K students will type their name and alphabet.
• The First Grade students will type simple sentences and spelling words from a printed copy.
• The Second Grade students will type sentences, spelling words, vocabulary words and short paragraphs from a printed copy.
• The Third Grade students will compose and type short paragraphs and stories.  They will type sentences using spelling words and vocabulary.
• All K-3 students will utilize spellcheck and make corrections  before printing final product.
• All K-3 students will print and save their final product.

Materials:

• Printed copies of current spelling/vocabulary lists.
• Printed copies of paragraphs and sentences.
• Printed copies of Computer Training Checklist and Computer Operator's Permit.
• Folders for students' materials.

Teacher Notes:

• The teacher will review previously taught materials using PowerPoint presentation.
• The teacher will prepare the Computer Training Checklist and Computer Operator's Permit for each student.
• The teacher will prepare printed copies of spelling/vocabulary lists, sentences, and paragraphs.

• The teacher will review previously taught skills.
• Utilizing a PowerPoint presentation, students will view final product expectations.
• The teacher will individually assess each student by completing an individual Computer Training Checklist while other students are practicing at their stations.
• If reinforcement/reteaching is necessary, the teacher will make provisions at this time.
• The students will be given their assignments to complete (type, spellcheck, print, save) and to store in folders.
• Upon successful completion of assignments, the teacher will present each student with a Computer Operator's Permit.

• Time slots will vary according to the computer availability (computer lab versus single computers in the classroom).
• Special needs students expectations would be derived from the IEP.
