Permission forms for videotaping
children must be obtained if school policy requires it.
Procedures:
Reread
The
Little Red Hen independently.
Read
aloud The Little Red Hen: A Tale of Hard work.
Compare
and contrast the two versions in a Venn Diagram on the large sheet of paper.
Students work in pairs to list features of each story on a sheet with one
story on the front and the other story on the back. Using their list,
students contribute to the Venn Diagram.
Discuss
good friend characteristics and hard work verses playing. Students
in cooperative groups brainstorm situations displaying these character
traits within their community. They will video tape themselves acting
out the situations.
View
the video when all groups are complete.
