Students will discuss the history of rockets and Aeronautics Engineering, Newton's Laws of Motion as they relate to rockets, and the forces experienced by rockets.

One - 45 minute period

Use of Internet search engines and word processing software

Instructional Materials

A Brief History of Rockets
Newton's Laws of Motion

Procedure

Using the Internet as a resource, students will compose a paper on Newton's Laws of Motion, the history of rockets, and the four forces on rockets.

Differentiated Instruction

Provide help searching the Internet for special needs students.  Also, allow extra time to complete paper.

Collaboration

Language Arts research paper, note taking, resource citing techniques

Author's Comments

In order to help keep the students from copying & pasting from the internet, you should have the students research the given information, print any desired information, close the internet, then, and only then, write the research paper from their notes, or have them hand write it.
