Authors: Ted Hanket, David Soltesz

Subject(s): Math, Science, and Engineering
Grade Level: 9-12

Unit Objective(s)/Overview:

The student will have an understanding of the different types of waves including, transverse, longitudinal, and water waves.  They will demonstrate this understanding with a culminating PowerPoint Project that will defend their design on how to confront a wave.  The PowerPoint will have both mathematical equations and pictures that support the students design.

Resources:

Lesson 1 (Data Projector, Computer and Internet Skills)
Lesson 2 (Students should have access to computers with Internet access, Microsoft Word and Excel, and should know the basics of file management (i.e., opening/saving/printing files).  If you do not have Microsoft Office, Sun Microsystems distributes a free Open Office suite that is very similar to Microsoft Office.  The teacher should be able to project the presentation so the entire class can view it.)
Lesson 3 (The teacher should be able to project the presentation so the entire class can see it.  The presentation pc should have Internet access.)
Lesson 4 (Data Projector, Computer and Internet Skills)
Lesson 5 (Data Projector, Computer and Internet Skills)
