Overview:

The purpose of this learning experience is to share all of the research, compilation of materials, including the finished floor plan from Classroom Architect, and the total cost of the materials with the entire group.  Students will also write a brief summary of their research results and present the information to the class.

Objective(s):

The purpose of the learning experience is to use written and oral communication skills while presenting their engineered design.   

Time Required:

Two 45 minute class periods

Pre-Requisite Skills:

Written and oral communication skills

21st Century Tools:

Computers
Word processing software

Instructional Materials:

Student developed presentation materials.

Procedure:
  1. Taking turns, each group will have no more than 15 minutes to present.
  2. Those students not presenting will be expected to follow the rubric and check off completed items as their peers present all material (one rubric per team).
  3. Presenters will state at least three things they learned from this project.
Differentiated Instruction:

Students not able to present orally will be allowed to turn in assignments in written form such as a PowerPoint. Students wishing to present additional items and or materials will be allowed to present their presentations last, this may include a 3D model and enhancements to the classroom space or a PowerPoint Presentation

21st Century Assessment:
  • Completion of final project packet and classroom model according to rubric
  • Teacher will use the post assessment tool (on the overview page) to be completed online in a computer lab by each student
