Procedure:

  1. Using a LCD projector or Interactive White Board, the teacher will show students the teacher created Wiki from Lesson 1, introducing Mrs. Backback’s Dilemma (problem). During this time, the teacher will explain the process he/she used to create the wiki in order to prepare students to make their own wiki.
  2. Teacher will present and discuss with the students the outline and rubric for the completed Wiki collaborative presentation.
  3. Students will meet with their team to organize and assign each member responsibilities for completion of their Wiki project.
  4. Students will use computers to complete their Wiki project. A scanner is needed to scan and attach the students' design blueprint (or sketch) to the wiki.
  5. Students will use the Wiki Rubric to evaluate their completed project.
  6. Students will present their completed Wiki website to another team, teacher or the class.

Differentiated Instruction:

Students use cooperative learning throughout the project.  Tasks and responsibilities are assigned based on individual strengths and styles of learning.

Sample Student Products:

The teacher creates a Wiki to introduce the Unit in Lesson 1. As an example of the product they need to complete, the teacher will first present his/her Wiki to the students.

21st Century Assessment:

Wiki Rubric, Self-evaluation and Evaluation of other groups using the Wiki rubric, and post-test (see overview)
