a Look at Pets

Internet permission slips
Procedures:
-
List animals that would be possible to have as a house pet on a chart or
chalkboard. After your discussion, complete the sheet on house
pets.

Have the students select a pet from the house
pets worksheet that they would like to have. Collect your class's data
and display on a chart or chalkboard. Have your students complete
the graph
with the data collected.

Visit and discuss the web site that tells about what
dogs need. After reading the needs of a pet, have you students
complete the sheet on what a pet needs.

Prepare your students for the possibility of losing a pet by visiting,
reading, and discussing their feelings on the loss
of a pet. Have your students complete the worksheet on feelings
of losing a pet.

Students can recall information by writing in their journal
a brief paragraph using the main idea-You should take good care of your
pet. Paragraph's details should include information from what
dogs need web site or their worksheet.

Pair students who may have difficulty reading the worksheets.

Pair students who may need assistance completing a graph.
