Learner Outcomes:

The student will use data/information
collected and organized from previous lessons to create a Power Point presentation
about the college that they have researched.

The student will give a presentation
about their college by using Power Point.
Duration of Lesson: 5
45 minute periods
Materials:
Technology tools/Courseware:
-
Office 2000/Power Point and Word
-
Multi-Media Computer
-
LCD Panel, Overhead Projector, and
Large Screen
Teacher Notes:
-
Students must have their data from
Lessons 2 and 3.
-
Students should have prior knowledge
of using Power Point.
-
Students should plan out their presentation
on paper before creating it on Power Point.
-
The teacher needs to print out the
multimedia
rubric self-evaluation/teacher evaluation form for each student prior
to the presentations.
-
Each student should print a hard copy
of their presentation as well as save the presentation onto disk so that
the teacher can evaluate the presentation.
Procedures:
First Period:
-
Review with students the process of
organizing and outlining a presentation.
-
The teacher will pass out the multimedia
rubric to the the students and discuss the rubric components with the class.
-
The students will then begin to
develop a paper draft/outline of their Power Point presentations.
Second Period:
-
the students are to complete their
paper draft/outline of their Power Point presentations.
-
Review with students the Power Point
program.
-
The students are then to begin working
on their Power Point presentations, using their paper outline as a guide.
Third Period:
-
The students will complete their Power
Point presentations.
-
The students will then preview their
Power Point presentation, making note of any errors in grammar, punctuation,
capitalization, spelling, organization, as well as errors in slide timing,
transition, etc.
-
The students will then edit and revise
their presentations, correcting all errors.
-
The students will then practice running
their Power Point presentations, to ensure that they are in working order.
-
The students will save their presentations
to floppy disk and will print out a hard copy of the presentation
to be submitted to the teacher following their presentation.
Fourth Period:
-
The students will present their College
Power Point production to the class.
-
The student will use the multimedia
presentation evaluation rubric to self-assess the completeness of their
Power Point presentation.

The students will turn in their floppy
disk, printout, and self evaluation rubric to the teacher following their
in-class presentation.
Fifth Period:
-
The students will continue to
present their College Power Point production to the class.
-
Student self evaluations of Power
Point presentations will continue.
-
The students will turn in their floppy
disk, printout, and self evaluation rubric to the teacher following their
in-class presentation.
Modifications:
-
Instruction will be adapted/modified
to meet the needs of students of varying cognitive and motor skill levels.
-
Peer tutors will be used for instructional
assistance.
Enrichment Activities:
-
Students may add sounds, animations,
etc. to their presentations.
