GRADE LEVEL: 9-12 SUBJECT(S): Science, Health LEARNER OUTCOMES: Identify basic components of the
circulatory system.
DURATION OF LESSON: Three 90 minute class periods MATERIALS: Internet web sites
TECHNOLOGY TOOLS/COURSEWARE: Computer lab with Internet access
TEACHER NOTES: Remind students about how to search
the Internet.
PROCEDURES: Day 1: Teacher will pair students
to create a mini research paper on the cardiovascular system. Directions
will be given for accessing specific information on the circulatory
system and heart.
Students will begin exploration of these sites in the computer lab.
MODIFICATIONS: Specific pairings for special needs students may be needed. ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES: CD-ROM program: "The Ultimate Human Body 2.0" by DK Publishing, Inc. EVALUATION/ASSESSMENT: Each team's paper will be evaluated by the teacher using the Classroom Assessment List for a research report from Glencoe Health: Performance Assessment Activities.
