- Work in selected groups and exchange their information on the countries of India and England.
- Be named an expert in their group on one of the categories of research.
- Share information with experts in other groups.
- Bring the information they have collected back to their own groups.
- Use prewriting and drafting strategies (drawing, clustering, brainstrorming, discussion, etc.) to generate topics and plan approaches to writing tasks.
- Use writing strategies to address a specific writing purpose.
- Complete a rough draft with the rest of the students in the class.
- Edit their own writing as well as the writing of others in their group.
- Use Microsoft Word to complete their final report comparing/contrasting India and England.

PROCEDURES:
- The social studies teacher will have to work very closely with the language arts teacher on this assignment.
- Students who need a lot of help will need to paired with good students so that they, too, can benefit from this lesson.
