1- demonstrate the ability to reconcile a bank statement

DURATION OF LESSON: 1-40 minute class period

MATERIALS:   check ledger worksheet, bank statement worksheet

TECHNOLOGY TOOLS/COURSEWARE: calculators as needed

TEACHER NOTES: Permission slips as needed.

PROCEDURES:
1- Discuss reasons for reconciling a bank statement.
2- Model for students how to properly use the statement from the bank when reconciling a bank statement.
3- Given the ledger worksheet and bank statement worksheet, students will reconcile a bank statement.

MODIFICATIONS: calculators, peer tutoring, oral reading as needed

ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY: Invite a bank representative to the classroom or take a field trip to the bank.

EVALUATION/ASSESSMENT:  completed reconciliation statement
