Procedures:

To serve as a unit introduction
and to provide background information, teacher will show the movie "Gettysburg"
and then lead a daily class discussion of the event.

Using Internet Explorer, students
will research the Battle of Gettysburg by visiting multiple
Internet sites, reading about the battle, and making a list of important
facts and key individuals of the battle.

Students will take a virtual tour
of the battlefield by visiting The
Gettysburg Battle Tour.

Students will write a two-page
essay on elements of the battle and the impact of the outcome.
Modifications:
Modifications will be made based on those listed in student's IEP.
Enrichment Activities:
Students will construct a time line of the major events of the Battle
of Gettysburg.
Evaluation/Assessment:
Oral Discussion, Fact List, and Completed Essay.
