Title: Russian vs. American Public Schools Grade Level: 3 Subjects: Language Arts, Social Studies Learner Outcomes:
Duration of Lesson: 2 - 50 minute sessions Materials: Reading Notebooks, table, encyclopedias, Internet access, KWL chart, and any other available resources that would assist students to locate relevant information concerning Russian schools Technology Tools/Courseware: Multimedia computer, internet access Teacher Notes: Monitor students closely on computers and follow any IEP's within the classroom. Procedures:
2. Supply the students with the chart using information obtained at the web page provided. Students may be placed in small groups or work individually to complete the table with accurate information pertaining to Russian and American schools. 3. Give the students ample time to complete the assignment, then check the work together as a group. 4. Engage the students
in a class discussion regarding the benefits and drawbacks of each system.
This could be reinforced with a Venn Diagram
if desired.
