The teacher needs to gather the
necessary poetry books from the listed materials.

The teacher will monitor students
as they are searching for sites on the internet.

The teacher needs to prepare the
packet of information showing the samples/format of poetry.

The teacher needs to gather books
of poetry for students to use.

The teacher will preview links
to different poetry sites.
Procedures:

The students will access the packets
of poetry.

The teacher will conduct directed
discussion on each type of poetry using sample/patterns.

After students grasp an understanding
of the types of poetry, a whole group discussion will follow creating
an example of each.

Students will complete the poetry
matching worksheet independently.

Students will complete the types
of poetry worksheet independently.
Modifications:

If internet access is not available,
students will need to use the library.

Special groups will be designated
for special needs students.
Enrichment Activities:
Research will be conducted for examples of other types of poetry.
