Fairies and Dragons

Grade Level: 3

Learner Outcomes:

  1. The student will learn to work with facial proportions and create a symmetrical head dress.
  2. The student will learn to express emotions through art work.
  3. The student will learn to work together in cooperative groups.

Duration of Lesson:  Three 40 minute class periods

Materials: floor tape, construction paper, tape, glue, pencils, markers, crayons, paper plates, scissors, stapler

Technology Tools/Courseware: computer, internet, camera, projector

Procedures:
Days 1-2
  1. Students will view pictures of fairies and dragons using a computer and projector system.
  2. Students will create a two-faced head dress with a fairy on one side and a dragon on the other.
Day 3
  1. Students will play the game "Fairies and Dragons".
Modifications: Follow student IEP's

Enrichment Activities: Student will invent a game for their Fairy Tale Story they are creating in Language Arts.
