the six essential nutrients.

Sleuths game at the Nutrition
Café web site.

List and discuss the 6 essential nutrients: carbohydrates,
fats, proteins, water, vitamins and minerals.

Brainstorm a list of foods that would be high in each of
these nutrients.

Instruct students on characteristics of a webbing.

Use the software program, Inspiration,
to create a webbing.

Go to the Nutrition
Café site to play Nutrition Sleuths—identifying the nutrients
missing in individual’s diets.
Modifications:
Use peer tutoring with computer assignment.
Enrichment Activities:
Use some of the other interactive games at the Nutrition
Café site.
