Computers with Internet access and web browser, projection device, and
laptop
Procedures:

Introduce students to bookmarks and
folders using Netscape Navigator. (Lesson
3: Using Bookmarks and/or Bookmarks
)

Discuss categories for topic organization
(such as military personnel, civilians, pictures, correspondence)

Have students create at least 3 bookmark
folders to organize their research thus far.

Explain copyright issues. (Copyright
on the Internet)

Discuss "myths" about copyrights. (Copyright
Myths)

Demonstrate MLA citation forms. (Documenting
Sources from the World Wide Web)

Students will write citations, using
proper MLA forms, for 3 sites they have visited.

Students will continue searching on
the Internet for Civil War Sites.
