Teacher Notes
This lesson allows students to transfer data from a spreadsheet into a hand drawn bar graph and make comparisons.

Procedures

  1. Students will use the computer to bring up spreadsheet.
  2. Demonstrate map insert feature and have students include it on their spreadsheets.
  3. From the spreadsheet data, they will hand draw a bar graph.
  4. After the bar graphs are drawn, the students will check their bar graph by comparing it to the computer made bar graph projected by the computer.
Unit Project
Students will make a bar graph using the data collected on spreadsheet.

Modifications
Students work in pairs to interpret and make bar graphs.

Enrichment Activities
Math - Students may make a survey of classmates' character traits (one or more per student) and make a spreadsheet to tally results.
