2.  Inform students that there are five steps to treat a bee sting.
3.  Teacher will write each step for treating a bee sting on the overhead projector. The teacher will discuss and demonstrate each step.
Step 1- Always tell an adult about the bee sting.
Step 2- Scrape out the stinger with your fingernail.
Step 3- Wash the area with soap and water.
Step 4- Put ice on the area of the sting (explain that this will usually take away the pain).
Step 5- If a sting is more serious and is on the arm or leg, keep the arm or leg dangling down. Apply a cold wet cloth. Get help immediately.
4.  Have students verbally repeat the steps to a partner until both have memorized the sequential steps for treating a bee sting.
5.  Have the partners make an informational booklet about how to treat a bee sting. First, using Microsoft Word, the students will write one step per page. Next, the students will make a cover for their booklet using construction paper and art supplies. Then, the students will staple the booklet together. Last, the students will illustrate each page of their booklet.
6.  Teacher will encourage students to share their booklets with other classmates, siblings, and friends.
7.  The teacher will go to the web site "Hey! A Bee Bit Me" to view information about bee stings. Students will view this information via the data projector.
8.  Students will take a written bee sting treatment sequencing quiz.

As a culminating activity for this unit the students will visit "The Policeman's Notebook" web site.
