This is an integrated unit promoting the understanding and development of healthy dental hygiene practices. Emphasis is on technology integration and active student participation. The unit is geared for preschool and kindergarten grades while integrating collaboration with 5th grade to implement cooperative learning strategies. Fifth grades will create a Power Point presentation for the kindergarten students.Learner Outcomes:
1. Students will discover the importance of healthy dental hygiene.Duration:
2. Students will make good nutritional choices in order to maintain healthy teeth.
3. Students will learn and practice to brush their teeth appropriately.
KINDERGARTEN:West Virginia IGO's:About 60 minutes each day of integrated activities for a week
FIFTH GRADE:
About 40 minutes per day for a week of computer access to prepare a Power Point presentation
